Why do we read Al-Quran even if we can't understand a single Arabic.

I would like to share a beautiful story that was sent by a friend. An old American Muslim lived on a farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky with his young grandson.
Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Qur'an. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could. One day the grandson asked, "Grandpa! I try to read the Qur'an just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Qur'an do?" The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, "Ta ke this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water." The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, "You'll have to move a little faster next time," and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead. The old man said, "I don't want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You're just not trying hard enough," and he went out the door to watch the boy try again. At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would Leak out before he got back to the house. The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breath, he said, "See Grandpa, it's useless!" "So you think it is useless?" The old man said, "Look at the basket." The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out. "Son, that's what happens when you read the Qur'an. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be Changed, inside and out. That is the work of Allah in our lives."
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) says: "The one who guides to good will be rewarded equally"

Solar Eclipse

On 26th January 2009, at 5 pm to 7 pm, solar eclipse was occurs here. NASA predicts that annular solar eclipse will occurs on 26 January 2009. Its true, this is the first time I can see the annular solar eclipse. I've took a photo. Solar eclipse occur when the moon shadow the sun's light from the viewed of earth. Its happens when the moon is between the sun and the earth. Each year at least two and up to five times solar eclipses will occur on the earth. There are four classes of solar eclipse :

a. a total eclipse

b. an annular eclipse

c. a hybrid eclipse

d. a partial eclipse

Did you know that looking directly at the photospere of the sun although just a few second will cause permanently damage to our eyes? How far its true I didn't know. But they said its also can cause blindness. May be its true because at that time the light was very shining.

For so long I was not writing. Very busy. I feel that this year time is very quickly. We had spent almost 80% of the year.

After get a good result in SPM, some students in dillema to choose a course to further their study. They always relate the course and the job. In their minds they always ask " what course will give them a job?" They are afraid if they don't get any job or get a lower salary. After apply to further the study, the results comes out, but they didn't get the course that they want, they're in dillema again. Whether to further their study or not. If they don't continue, what will happen?

"No choice... I have to further my study..." Thats the answer always I heard, Is it true my students? Some of them said, my parents want me to further in this course. I don't even like the course. With that they study with no mood, humble and frustration.

Actually, its lucky to have parents who give support and help us make decision, they try to help their children with best choices. Some parents know nothing and you have to depend to yourself to make the best decision.
As me, after my SPM, I don't even know what course and where to further my study. Just follow some friends fill a form and apply the unversities based on result. When I was at the university, I don't even think what jobs will I get when I graduate. My first aim was I don't want to fail. So I must make sure that I won't fail. How to do this? I will write in next time.

Towards the final exam

SITUATION 1

This afternoon a group of Computer Science student makes appointment with me because they're going to take their final exam tomorrow afternoon. There are three of them. One of them ask me:

Student: Madam, I see you because I want to study with you.

RWA: Hello guys, sorry, I'm not going to sit for the exam. Only you who are going to sit for exam. Why should I study with you...

Student: Oooppsss.... Sorry madam, I want you to help me with some topics. I'm not sure how to find volume by using Shell Method and Washer method.

RWA: Ohhh.... If you want me to help you, its ok. But don't ask me to study with you.

SITUATION 2

One day a student comes to my office, he's going to sit for final exam in two days more. He's one of the student who always come late and didn't attend the class. After sit down, the student ask

Student: Madam I want you to teach me three topics in this course.

RWA: Where are you when I teaching this topics?

Student: I....I... didn't attend the class because I wake up late.

RWA: Have you do any revision on this topics?

Student: Not yet...

RWA: Don't you ask your friends, when you miss my lecture?

Student: No.

RWA: Did you know I took 2 weeks to teach this topics? Now you only have 2 days to cover your silibus. My advise is you go back and find out my notes. Study the examples I've given for you. Good lucks.

Office Mathematics Vs Romance Mathematics

Yesterday I was searching for something for me to read. I found this:

DUMB BOSS + SMART EMPLOYEE = PROMOTION

DUMB BOSS + DUMB EMPLOYEE = OVERTIME

I don't know whether this equation is relevant or not, but something good to think. What do you think ? Be a smart boss or have a smart employee? I think all of us gain for profit.

SMART MAN + DUMB WOMAN =AFFAIR

When I asked a few of friends and my students about Mathematics, many responses that I get. Some of them said " I don't like mathematics because its difficult."
" Mathematics made me crazy"
" I don't understand the purpose of study mathematics"
" So many formula...... "
" I'm a cooker, do I need to know mathematics?"
" Why should I study mathematics? I just a goal keeper"
" I love to study mathematics, but I dislike to remember the formula and to prove"
And so many responses given, but the average response is many people said that they dislike Mathematics. I would like to know what do you think about mathematics. If you have any comments please response.

Manage your time

" Madam, you give me a lot of exercises. We don't have time to do this"
" I don't have enough time to do a revision. Can you postponed our quiz, madam?"
" Sorry, madam. I wake up late this morning. I've miss my test. When can I sit for it?"
Thats a few questions that I always heard from my student.
My dear students, what I know, all of us have 24 hours a day and 30/31 days a month. No matter who you are, where do you live or how old are you. 24 hours is a long time for some people who don't have a work but it seems so short for a busy people. But somehow its up to us to manage our time. Manage our time? How?? As a student, I advise you to make a daily timetable. You must include your study time, meal time, leisure, revision and don't forget your time with Allah. Do something to manage your time......

Tips for exam

1. Take care for your health. Take a vitamin, so that you're always energetic. Drink a lots of alkhaline water.
2. Have a rest one day before exam.

Why we needs water

70% of the parts in our body is water. So water is very important in our live. From the water we get the oxsigen. Why we needs oxsigen? All of us know that we cannot live without oxsigen. Our brain also needs an oxsigen. Why student always feel sleepy and tired? When it happens they cannot concentrate in the class, so that they didn't understand what they are studying. All of this because of lack of oxygen. So as a conclusion, always bring the water to the class so that you can get more oxygen, more energy and more brilliant. Thats what chinese always do. Try it.

My ex students

Last week my husband sent a computer to one of the cyber cafe in Dungun to repair. After a few days I follow my husband to the place to take back our computer. When I come to the cyber cafe I met my ex-student working as part time. And then I met the owner and I'm very proud because the owner also my ex-UiTM student. She was my student a few years ago, when she was in diploma, but know she's further her studies in bachelor. As a student she also conduct a business. I'm proud of her who try to manage her study and business. At least she don't have to think what to do after the graduation.

How to use time

Everybody in the world, no matter where they live, who they are, how old they are, have 24 hours a day. Some people think that they didn't have enough time a day and they needs more time to finish their work.

If you think you don't have enough time so you should manage your time carefully. How to manage our time? you should make a daily timetable. So that you know your mission and you must follow your timetable. If you do this so I'm sure you will achieve your goal.
